Hope

Emmanuel Obokoh

Have you ever had that feeling

That feeling of not being enough?

That feeling of fear for not achieving purpose?

That feeling of fear of the unknown?

That feeling of waking up to questions & regrets

Have you ever clinched so hard to the feeling of someone or something for hope?

Have you ever thought of giving up on hope?

Have you ever thought to live a life driven by hope and beliefs?

The world is a vast place filled with answers to all our questions and doubts

It takes strength & courage to seek that which you desire

Sometimes you need to step out of your comfort zone to have a different perspective as to how you see life.

Life is short they say, so you need to Live, Learn & Love to the fullest.

What’s your hope on?

Let’s trace that step back together

Sometimes all we need is a push.

Sometimes all we need is a moment of joy & happiness

Sometimes all we need is to learn to spread love & light.

Emptiness

Della

I lived in a guilt of knowing the wrong, but still choosing it.
You belonged to someone else but the thought of you being your happiest with me convinced my doubts.

You were so grateful to me for being in your life as I showed you how it is to be loved with every ounce of someone’s existence.
You shared your secrets with me and you loved me the way you loved yourself.
You protected me and looked at me constantly as if it was our last day.

Your hugs were so tight,
felt like tattoos on my chest.
Your kisses were intoxicating
They made me dizzy with passion

Your love was my favorite kind of wine
It made me high
Oh baby! How did we turn out to be so helpless?

Happiness

Olaitan Osho

That feeling after a baby is born and the pain is gone,

when she looks into his eyes and says, ” I do”.

Being around the people that bring out the best in you,

the feeling of being accepted and appreciating yourself.

You realize that it is not just about having money when you give out to that old man sitting by the street and he starts crying and praying for you.

Have you ever wondered how the birds feel when soaring in the sky or how the horses feel galloping through the field?

That freedom and feeling of ecstasy, is intoxicating, spreading within you like a fire, and your soul comes alive.

Do not keep it to yourself.

The world might be a dark and cold place but there’s happiness also, so let it out, put a smile on someone’s face.

Sing with beautiful melodies.

Dance to the beat with joy.

Paint with radiating colors.

Share that feeling within you.

Share that happiness.

A Dance of Her Brave World

Daniel Igenewari and Joy Ibifuro
Some night she dances
with tears in her eyes
In her brave little world.
Some days she smiles
But its only a fickle light
In the dark of heart throbs.
The heart wants what it wants
Whatever that might be
Incessantly it longs and cries
Till her being is subdued
Last night she heard a voice in the walls;
What if its not of this world?
What if the things you want don’t exist here?
She assures herself once more at the break of dawn
She tells herself, “it’s the start of a new beginning.”
But then she wakes up from her slumber of a better life
And sadly we all know;
Hope is after all only a dream,
Isn’t it?

Artwork by: IyunOla Sanyaolu

With bruised knees she lifts herself
Once again dancing to the tune of the uncaring crowd
Hiding her agony in smiles
What a world she dwells in
where a tear drop of innocence is worth less than a piece of a filthy rag
How did it come to this
She scurries up and down the earth
But it won’t take her in;
No accommodation for a forbidden seed
So precious but yet forbidden
Her heart thickens with bitterness
With panting and heavy breathing
She speaks;
So soft that it could be called whispers
There is a dome that covers all
No passage of air
There are constrictions so far down there
Oh set her free from this mad hemisphere
